Marylanders have reported 14 cases of Bridgestone/Firestone tire failures, or less than 1 percent of the more than 1,400 known incidences nationwide, federal data show. The Maryland tire failures caused a crash that left two injured.

service is fighting an air shuttle bill that is
awaiting the signature of Gov. Parris Glendening. The bill would
help people from outlying areas of the state get shuttle service to
BWI Airport, but critics feel it would drive small shuttle
services out of service.
